It was recently brought to my attention that my website is not as accessable as I might have thought it was.
This shows my lack of wholeistic consideration in that I didn’t think about accomidating those who are differently abled than myself. This is my failing.
However, I would like to change that. I would like to make this more accessable and I would like to be more considerate of different situations.
To do this on my website, there are some very simple plugins I can add to make this happen. The unfortunate part is that it means that I need to upgrade my website in order to use these plugins.
Thus, to make my website more accessable, I need to raise £170, give or take. The upgrade charges annually rather than monthly (as those of you also using WordPress will know). So far this website has come out of my own pocket, but I don’t think I can make this happen on my own.
So I’m asking for your help. I have a Ko-fi account where you can ‘Buy Me a Coffee,’ which will contribute to making this website more accessable.
This isn’t just for me and my own website, but is a direction I think all content-creators should consider. We are in a world where it is essential that we consider every aspect of readership, and that includes those who are differently abled than ourselves. We have the capacity to be considerate, to support each other, we just need to make sure we’re doing it wholistcally.
I appreciate any support you can give to this endeavor. Thank you!
